This used to be an ok place to stay but I believe it's really gone down hill over the past year or so. The last few times I stayed there, it was very noisy in the parking lot at 3 til after 4am with multiple trucks idling and very loud conversations, right outside the doors to the rooms.. made it impossible to sleep, which is one of the important things you would want from a hotel, a decent night sleep. No apology from management and for nights of lost sleep. In fact, it gets worse, I spoke with Debbie the receptionist and she couldn't care less about my concerns. At one point, she said "if you don't like it, you can just leave". She refused to let me speak with management and said that she is "in charge and she makes the decisions". I was willing to overlook the small run down rooms and the sparse breakfast, consisting of bagels and coffee.... but not rude belligerent Debbie masquerading as customer service. I have been traveling on business for 30 years, over 500 hotel night stays and I have NEVER been treated as rudely by anyone as I was by receptionist Debbie. The fact that she is employed there does not reflect well on the management, who didn't even bother to apologize for her outrageous behavior and instead tries to play it off as a "misunderstanding". Her atrocious behavior is not a misunderstanding, that is a fact.
Beautiful hotel especially in the winter time with beautiful view of Narragansett town beach especially the sunrise is spectacular. Staff is very accommodating rooms are neat and clean with extremely cozy beds and a sweet little breakfast nook other lobby in the morning with complimentary coffee, tea, bagels and cereal. Also within walking distance of shopping plaza with boutiques, library and restaurants ie the coast guard house , the surf shack, and a hip burger joint. Highly recommended.
Given that this is walking distance to Narragansett town beach, I’d say I’d recommend staying here. HOWEVER, the hotel is outdated. The AC unit is old and makes air in the room wet and smells like mildew. For example, my husband’s clothes were in his luggage and somehow felt moist after being in the room overnight. You definitely smell it instantly when you walk in, so if you are someone who is sensitive to mold/mildew spores, etc I’d be mindful of that. I do want to say that the blond woman who seems to work 2nd or 3rd shift is really great. She is very hospitable and attentive. Again, location is great- just measure your expectations as far as the room itself. We would stay here again. Beautiful view if you get a balcony room.
This place is a dump. The room smelled like mildew and mold, the tub was clogged, they charge you for water (not even one bottle included with the high price of the room) and the staff is incredibly rude. Don’t think you’ll be staying one minute past check out - they will be standing outside your door on a Monday insisting they have another guest checking in. In what world does a hotel let you check in at 11 a.m? The only thing going for it is the location. Book early and grab yourself an Air BNB instead. I’ve noticed the management replies to all of these reviews. Here’s a tip: Instead of taking 15 minutes to reply - go get your dehumidifier and attempt to remove the stench of mold from your dump of a hotel. It will help you in the long run.
This is a nice cozy hotel right on the water across from the wall, the rooms are nice and the room we had had an excellent view with a small balcony. Our room also contained a nice sitting area with a love seat and chair as well as coffee machine and refrigerator. Everything was neat and cleanIncluding the bathroom. You are in walking distance between the public beach and several restaurants and shopping. There is plenty of parking and they will give you a tag so that you can park in a lot. This is a very nice location with great views, you won't be disappointed.
