Nana’s is a multi-generational family business that has become a local staple in Narragansett.
Nana's Ice Cream was founded in 1985 at Narragansett Beach by the Wright Family.
In 2006, the Mann Family purchased Nana’s.
Who is Nana?
At the helm is mom and Nana, Dianne Mann. She retired from crazy corporate world after a 30 year career in finance. Scooping cones sounded like a fun retirement gig but little did she know that running one of the most popular beach shops would be madness.
In 2009, Nana’s expanded to Galilee, where the Block Island Ferry tourists frequented.
In 2011, Dianne added Nana's Candy Bar with walls of nostalgic candy, saltwater taffy and fudge located right next door to Nana's Ice Cream at Narragansett Beach.
Good gelato. Open till 11pm. Only place around. Parking is confusing but spaces are available. Six chairs to sit outside face parking lot. $7 two scoops of gelato. Waffle bowl $1.25. $8.25 for two scoops and waffle bowl. Scoops were good size. Fast service. Young friendly staff. Pistachio light flavor. Cannoli flavor initially good light also. Nutella flavor a must. Espresso more maple than espresso. Should be stronger.
We're from Worcester Massachusetts and go all over New England for ice cream. This was a very special place,, the whole family loved this place!! We chose Nana's over Ben& Jerry's and we were not disappointed. We will be back when in the area. I feel so bad because I didn't tip... Nice Tip Nextime!! I promise 😂
Really cute shop in the Pier Marketplace! The cream sickle gelato was soo creamy and reminiscent of childhood and the Good Humor man; mmmm!
Generous portions for kiddie sizes both in a cup and cone. Nice selection of gelato flavors available to pick from as well as hard ice cream. A short walk away from the water and has some chairs outside the shop to sit and enjoy your ice cream.
Great variety of candy. They don't have a selection of fudge and chocolates in display case like they used to. No chocolate Carmel pecans or cashews. We still enjoy going and filling our buckets with taffy, sweedish fish, and many, many more goodies. Traditional stop on our vacation.
