This was my first and last time I'll be taking my business to Max. I was very disappointed in the work that was done. The final result wasn't what we agreed upon and I was overcharged for services rendered. If you don't want to be overcharged for "less-than" quality, I'd recommend making the drive somewhere else.
Max is wonderful! We've had many pairs of shoes as well as a few other leather items repaired at his shop. He repaired sandals I did not think were salvageable as well as a vintage tote, dress shoes, and boots. It's fantastic to have his services in town. I really appreciate being able to keep wearing my old favorites even after they are discontinued. They don't make leather shoes like they used to!
I met this man years ago when he purchased a vehicle from a friend of mine. I found out after speaking with him that he repairs shoes. It's such a unique trade that isn't found often. The quality of good shoes has gone down from companies cutting corners and finding a true good quality shoe nowadays cand cost you $100s of dollars. I brought him a pair of shoes from my daughters baby shower 9 years ago. I paid $149 years ago but it was real quality. Those shoes now cost $295. This guy gave them back to me for a fraction of the cost and they look INCREDIBLE. HE LITERALLY "Saves Your Sole"
The fact that I found a “shoe repair” shop was amazing in itself….but I found the best!! Max turned my broken, 4 year old shoes into brand new ones, just like the day I bought them!!! Max is very knowledgeable in his craft with a positive attitude! Many thanks!
I haven’t had one terrible experience here I’ve had two. Absolutely terrible attitude of this guy. Very arrogant, no patience, and very miserable man. I even watched his service with the people before me in line and he was not pleasant at all. He was terrible rude for me for absolutely no reason and I know he won’t miss me but I’ll never go into that store again and would love to tell anyone listening to me not to either.. The sooner this guy can leave town the better! There is a wonderful shoe repair guy in East Greenwich which is only 30 min away on Main Street. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAX!!
