Cap'n Jack's restaurant in Kingston, RI, is a gem of a seafood restaurant that perfectly captures the essence of coastal dining. Located in the picturesque town of Kingston, the restaurant offers a beautiful setting that enhances the overall dining experience. The highlight of our meal at Cap'n Jack's was the incredibly fresh oysters. Each oyster tasted like it had just been plucked from the ocean, with a briny and refreshing flavor that was truly delightful. My wife opted for the clam fritters, which were a perfect blend of fluffy texture and golden crispiness. The fritters were bursting with clam flavor and were a true delight to the taste buds. The overall experience at Cap'n Jack's was fantastic. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The restaurant's location in Kingston adds to its charm, making it a perfect destination for a seafood meal after a day of exploring the town. In conclusion, Cap'n Jack's is a must-visit for seafood lovers in Kingston. With its fresh and delicious seafood offerings, friendly service, and charming ambiance, it offers a dining experience that is sure to please.

Chowder was decent. Fried clams were like leather (strip part ) bellies were fine. Scallops tasted like chemicals, like you just inhaled too much bleach. It could be a great spot but I would never go back. This is the kind of place you hope you don’t get food poising from.

I got the mahi mahi sandwich which had good flavor, but only half the sandwich had fish. The other half was just bread and lettuce. The oyster special of 6 half shells for $15 was fairly priced. Our server Courtney was just mediocre at best; she did the bare minimum required. The frozen painkiller was delicious, but I was told they didn’t have an option for non-frozen for some reason? Even so, I liked it. The outside patio view is a pretty scene and they played good music. The fries were fine, but nothing special. I would probably come back if someone mentioned it but not going out of my way for it.

This place is disgusting - best to drive right past and head to Matunuck Oyster Bar. The floors are sticky, which you can tell the moment you walk in. It needs a thorough cleaning, and I would be scared to see the kitchen. Nothing is clean. Service is also terrible - older woman (may be the owner or manager) is one of the most miserable people I’ve ever seen in the service industry - again immediately apparent upon entering the establishment. Staff seems miserable as well, and I wouldn’t blame them. Would only drink bottled beer from this place honestly, and would not order any food here unless you are in the mood for stomach issues later. With so many amazing spots to eat/drink in Rhode Island, this place is a joke. Definitely a washed up bar overall, seems like it’s time to close up shop and let Matunuck have the extra parking lot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Warning: Do not eat at this place! As soon as you walk in, a terrible smell seems to have been covered up with bleach. I should have left immediately. The oysters were awful - they were not cleaned or shucked correctly, so they had mud and shells and were a complete mangled mess. The tuna was clearly frozen, tasted like nothing, and had the weirdest texture. The clams were like leather, and the coleslaw that came with them had gone off at least a week prior. I literally gagged when I smelled it. The truffle tater tots are a joke! cheap tots with 5 pieces of old shaved parm on it. To top it off, we got food poisoning even though we only took 1 bite of everything. It is literally overpriced, GARBAGE!!!! Vile, disgusting food. I have no idea how anyone who ate here could give this place a rating higher than 1 star.
