Sea and Land is beyond awesome. We had some warranty work done on our boat which was a pretty complicated project. They took the old toe rails off of the boat and replaced them with the ones that the factory had to ship to us from South Africa. They were extremely careful in their work, very respectful of our property, and the work they did was absolutely phenomenal. The boat looks exactly the way it looked on the day it launched. The crew was very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their work. They are all an absolute pleasure to work with and I cannot recommend them enough. In this picture look at the white area. This is an area where there used to be screw holes. Sea and Land filled and painted this space and it looks absolutely PERFECT. I am so very happy to have met Mike and his team, they are wonderful to work with. Edited to add, the final invoice was less than the estimate. I was happy to pay the amount on the estimate, as the work they completed is worth every penny. The fact that they billed me for less than the estimate speaks to their honesty and integrity.
Mike and his team of engineers did a phenomenal job on a multi-week systems upgrade to my 40' sailboat this summer. Across a broad job list - designing new Nav panel, installing solar & battery monitoring systems, sailing/nav instruments, communications gear, remote vessel monitoring, even plumbing with a new deck shower - the team were highly professional, knowledgeable, respectful & tidy, and dealt with a changing job list in a very collaborative way. I also appreciated the detailed and transparent pricing. I look forward to using the team at Sea & Land Yacht Works on future projects, and highly recommend them to anyone considering marine upgrades or new installs. RvD
Sea and Land Yacht Works are a cut above the rest. Mike and his team are true professionals I would highly recommend them. If you are looking for work that is like factory or better these are people to choose. I had a new chartplotter, radar, heading sensor and transducer installed on my 23 foot Regulator. I couldn’t be happier with the result. Extremely clean work, high attention to detail, fair pricing.
I chose Sea & Land Yachts because their reviews emphasized attention to detail and ensuring the job came out well. This has been my experience as well. I had a tricky davit installation that required custom brackets. S&LYW did not fabricate the brackets and could have easily installed them as they came. However, instead they carefully checked the brackets before drilling any holes and found that one bracket had a significant error. Mike informed me of the issue and suggested getting the bracket modified locally. The modified bracket fit perfectly and the installation was a success. I can't emphasize enough the importance of S&LYW's attention to detail and doing all the right things to avoid a disaster and ensure a successful installation!
I'm a marine professional which means I'm an absolute nightmare of a customer. I know it. I contracted with Mike to do a full LifePO4 and solar install and refreshing everything from alternator to panel in a 40 year old boat with questionable maintenance history and a rare diesel. This project threw some curveballs to say the least, including custom pulleys and spacers and some challenging installation areas. I'll be honest I expected them to throw up their hands a couple of times because if the roles were reversed I'd consider it. But Mike and Drew persevered. Today I went sailing, exactly on budget and on schedule and everything works, which for a boat owner is the dream. Did it cost a lot? Yes. At the end of the day was it worth it? Absolutely. Edit: 3 months later Mike revised my invoice by $4k. It was already paid to $0 so that was illegal and I didn't pay. The batteries died within a year and had to be replaced at the cost of an additional $1k. All in it cost me nearly $20,000 to do a $9,000 job with these guys. Don't trust them.
