At Shickasheen Farm, Inc, our passion for plants and gardening has been with us since we opened our doors in 1976. While Mary and her late husband Leo, originally used the property to care for race horses they soon found themselves growing field mums in what is now West Kingston Park.
In 2021, Mary retired at 95 years old and handed over the reigns to her grandson, Rob, and his wife Emma.
Today, we have expanded our offerings to include perennials, shrubs, and more. We are proud to continue the legacy that Mary and Leo have created and strive to provide excellent customer service and high-quality plants to our customers. Shikasheen Farm is the local go-to spot for your gardening needs. The owner and staff are caring, courteous, and helpful. The prices are more than reasonable and the quality is cut above. I visited again today and bought some grasses. The quality was wonderful, and such a good value. The only thing it's I had to go home and plant them myself. 😆 The owner, Rob, is so open to finding whatever you are interested in to beautify your yard. They also have a fabulous gift center for the gardener in your life. You can purchase exquisite cut bouquets also.
We (My wife and I) have twins at URI and Salve Regina respectively. We have been driving past Shickasheen Farms for a year and a half. Today we decided to stop on our way back from URI as the mums looked amazing. We ended up buying several for ourselves and these beautiful multi color ones for our neighbors. The gentleman who helped us (don't know the name) was amazing. Friendly and helpful, when I mentioned I wanted a hanging on for our shepherds hook he said "Pick one and I'll add a hook for you." Dropped a good amount of money but it was still great prices. I would have paid more for crappier flowers at Walmart. Great place.
I got there with about 30 minutes to go before they closed and Bob was still kind and patient enough to walk me though their assortment of indoor plants. Great service and very knowledgeable staff. Don't forget to check out their well-stocked gift shop!
This is a beautiful place to get your garden on! People are so nice the greenhouses are beautiful and kept nicely. You can find really nice flowers and new flowers you wouldn't of thought to plant.
